Research interests

We are interested in the evolutionary and comparative study of the transcriptomic and genomic elements underlying particular adaptations in caecilian amphibians. Our interests also encompass research on population genomics and ecological diversification of Iberian crossbills, as well as molecular phylogenetics, systematics, and phylogeography of vertebrates.

Research organisms

  • Amphibians
  • Birds (crossbills)
  • Vertebrates

Bioinformatic, analytic, experimental skills

  • DNA and RNA isolation and sequencing (both Sanger and high-throughput)
  • Transcriptome assembly and characterization
  • Functional annotation
  • Differential expression analysis
  • SNP analysis
  • Phylogenetic and phylogenomic analysis
  • Comparative analysis
