Research interests

We study the evolutionary processes that generate and maintain biodiversity, and use phenotypic, genetic and genomic data to infer the evolutionary and demographic history of lineages, investigate the role of selection in divergence and speciation, and explore the genetic basis of adaptive traits.

Research organisms

  • Birds
  • Reptiles
  • Amphibians.

Bioinformatic, analytic, experimental skills

Standard phylogeography and population genetics using gene sequences, microsatellites and AFLP genotypes; phylogenomic, population genomic, and genomic landscape analysis using SNP data from RADseq and genotyping-by-sequencing (GBS); limited experience with RNAseq and transcriptomic data.
